Default 20 Tactical and H4198

Anyone shooting a 20 Tactical with 39gr Blitzkings and H4198? I have used Reloader 10X up until now but would like to find a load with H4198 since my 2 20Vt's and 17 Fireball are all set up to use that powder. It would be nice to have everything using the same powder if possible. I can't seem to find any reloading info for that combo.

Thanks, I have not seen the Hogden data for the 36gr Berger, that will give me a better starting point. All the manuals I have only had data for the 32gr bullets. I was hoping to get a closer starting point. Data for the 39 and 40 grain bullets seems to be lacking in any of the manuals. My copy of Kindlers Terrific Twenties only has data on the old 33gr VMax.

I'm curious to know how this powder works for you. I tried this in my Savage shooting 32 grain vmax and my AR shooting the 39 BK. Neither gun liked this powder/bullet combo. I settled on H322 and have been very pleased with it. My AR is making dime sized groups at 3950 fps with 39bk and the savage is pushing the 32's at 4150.

Well I am hoping there is a decent load with this combo, but I may be chasing my tail. I have time to do some load development so I am going to give it a try before this years PD trip. I can't complain about the Reloader 10X, it has done great for years with the 39gr BK in my rifle. I should just appreciate what I have but what fun would that be . I will post my results for other peoples reference.

I shot 23 grain of H4198 in my Lilja barrel 20 TAC with 39 and 40 grain bullets. Shot groups just as small as RL-10x

Thanks HillBilly, I knew someone must have shot this combo. I will work up to that load and see what I get.

@HillbillySniper,
What kind of velocity were you seeing with your H4198 loads?
