Stevo, a buddy shot one of the 30-06 Accelerators over his Chrony, and they ran just over 4000 fps. It was an old, original Chrony with the small cardboard screens, and when the sabots released, the sabots blew a hole through the cardboard screen shaped like a six-armed starfish.

Many years ago a company in England came out with a two part air rifle pellet called the Sussex Armoury Sabo It was a .22 calibre pellet
I tried a box, but to be honest they were not much good. The actual projectile was lead and weighed if memory serves about 14gr, but was .177 diameter or so. The pellets in this article sound similar to a range of pellets called prometheus. They were originally stainless steel but were very prone to ricochets so the core was changed for zinc. I never had much luck with them to be honest they were not especially accurate and would drill through critters with zero expansion. I dont know how well they would work with a full power charge of powder behind them. They might work with a reduced charge but I would be wary. |

Very doubtful if anything would stay on Larry at 300,000rpm!

It is with overwhelming confidence that I say Larry can make these work.
The Man can make a Turtle go 4000FPS.

The light weight alloy, "non-lead" pellets might work, but to what speed, I do not know.

Well three years later yes, but when you get old it seems to be just the blink of an eye in time.
