X-Caliber .17 Remington barrel
Hey Guys
I am pondering buying an X-Caliber barrel in .17 Rem. For several years now I have had one in .243 AI and it just delights me with its accuracy. X-Caliber is one of the few barrel makers that makes a Remage .17 Rem barrel so figured that I might give them a try. I am only interested in .17 Rem as I have lots of brass and ammo for it. Love that caliber. Any of you got a X-Caliber barrel in .17 Remington? If so are you happy with it and recommend it? All inputs appreciated. |

I have a couple of Xcaliber barrels, none in 17 Rem however. But before you buy that Remage, check out Ragged Hole barrels out of Sparks, NV. They use Wilson or shilen and are as good or better. Bill K

Consider a Pac-Nor 3 groove for RemAge.

Thanks for the replies but still am interested in perhaps trying that X-Caliber. Is here no one here that has one in .17 caliber?

Have a 17FB 9 twist 3g X-Cal here. No complaints at all.

That's what I ended up ordering. They have a 20% off sale on their barrels going on right now so I went ahead and ordered me one. Be a month, perhaps month and half before I get it but that's OK. Got no critter shooting planned for this summer. Come next spring I certainly plan on putting it to use once again.
Truth me known I shoot the .17 Hornet more these days, but if you really want to watch a toss on a ground squirrel the .17 Remington sure will put them on orbit. Bought my first .17 Remmy 40 years ago. I guess that I will always have one. |
