Default 40 gr 22 cal blems from Midsouth

Last week Midsouth sent out an email for "blems" in 40 gr 22 cal bullets w/ BTips from "well known" bullet mfgr (or something to that affect). Price including shipping about .06 a piece. They came today. Nosler on left, Hornady in the middle and "who made it" on right? Opinions from those more informed requested. Thanks Jim

I'm certainly in the "less" informed camp but sometimes I guess good . I'd bet those are "not for component sales" Hornady V-Max's made for factory loaded ammo requiring a crimp. I have some 60 grain V-Max's that look just like em.

Default Thanks Doug

I believe you are correct Doug. After your post I measured them both in the "hornady" comparator gauge and their ogive's are both the same. They looked very similar and the tips were dang near same color but the cannelure threw me a loop because I've seldom seen loaded factory ammo in my loading room. (Poor excuse for not thinking to measure in the comparator.) Thank you again. Jim

No problem. If you were to buy some Hornady .223 ammo with 40 grain V-Max's in em you'd find that exact bullet. You'll never be able to tell em apart from the over the counter offerings when ya shoot em .

I bought 5000 of 'em just like those red tips a few yrs ago.
Shot a bunch up, the rest are still loaded in a bucket yet.
Really really need to get out there and shoot up a bunch of
ammo this spring & summer. They just might go bad, you think?

Ken:
It ain't the bail money that needs to be put up.
It's the shipping costs to start with!!

Better yet, come on over and let's smoke 'em together this summer.

They must have been gone when I read the email, but I got 500 35 grain V-max on the cheap.
