Longest new brass you'll ever see is LC, it is usually 1.760 new, after the initial necking down and fireform, check 'em.

Most 20P (or for that matter any 223 based case) reamers cut the neck 1.770" from the bolt face, so its entirely possible to end up long after a couple firings.

20P does get into a donut issue after a few firings.

I just formed a couple hundred 1x-2x 223 cases that had been fully processed (ready to load) for 223 rifles down to 20P yesterday. My 223 brass is trimmed/chamfered to 1.752 or so on a Giruard. After sizing down to 20P, I would estimate that 95%+ are 1.760 or longer. I measured about 15-20 of the three different batches I had in my brass bins. I did find a few of the ones measured to be in the 1.757-8 OAL range but if I have to trim 95%, might as well trim 100% for the consistency factor. On my to do list today. LOL

I will try some fired 223/556 brass tomorrow, see if that makes a difference. I haven't seen long brass, I use a Redding neck sizing bushing die, .226 bushing( new brass 0.233 bushing first). For my AR fired 20p brass I size with a rcbs fl 223(204r recapping rod expander sanded down to 0.199), than the neck sizing bushing die.
