For me, May June is difficult. May is a 1 week gopher shoot in Horse Fly, B.C. We've given them a 4 year rest. Time to whack some gophers.
I have a 2-week fly-fishing trip with the "Fire Hogs" starting the 10th. June.
Straight holiday in BC, July is likely best, although our warmest month. Truck has "air", so NP there.
A drive through the Okanagan (South Central) Wine Country BC in the Summer is super, on over to Calgary. A nice drive, albeit a long poke. Driving through the passes is kinda special for someone not used to snow-capped mountains.

We will arrive in Vancouver on 29th June, planning on staying somewhere in Vancouver that night and getting a rental car and doing the scenic drive thing.
We want to see Jasper, I had a customer from Jasper who ran a bnb so was going to try and stay there while in Jasper but their email has changed so I am still trying to get hold of them.

I would love to do a gopher hunt.

We need to be in Calgary on the 13th July.

Daryl that is a great offer and if we can work something out it would be great.

I thought if there were one or two around Va we could maybe go out for a meal together.

Timing sounds very good. It can be really hot, but July for field rats after 1st cut of hay has been done, can work well. Best, of course, is when the round bales are still in the fields. In that instance, HMR and .22's are great. I also have PCP air rifles and a couple good HW springers.
Renting a car certainly helps with the trip. My wife and I do that as a rule when traveling.
I will PM my phone & e-mail.

Hello Kiwi,
I have seen him post for awhile but Groundhog Devastation is down around Roanoke Va., that is lower Va.
Where in Va might you be arriving, I’m in southeast Pa which is a few hour drive from Va?
Let me know if I can be of any help,
Stan

I’m sorry, I thought you were referring to Virginia when you typed Va. I’m a long ways from Vancouver although I have been through there.
I hope you have a great trip Kiwi.
Stan
