Default Very comforable back pack chair with back

Can not remember brand, but I found one with a folding back and a small bag, under the seat, that has a strap for carrying over the shoulder, happens to be in camo, at Walmart in the sports dept. Ran about 18.99 as I remember. Bill K

It's NOT a folder type. I've taken the legs off one of those old
plastic chairs where the seat and back are one piece. Very light wt.
Riveted both shoulder straps and a canvas canteen cover to hold trash bags,
some rope, small can of flea spray and a couple bungie cords on the back.
Used that many an hour and mile for calling coyotes and shooting p/dogs.
Have even put a 100rnd box of shells in it. We seldom need much out there
besides guns, ammo, calls and a way to get 'em back to the truck without
wearing blood and fleas.

During fur season we bag the coyotes, spray it real good and tie it shut.
Tie it on the chair. and with help to stand up. By the time we get to where
we'll skin 'em, they're all dead and bloods contained too.

I've carried two full grown coyotes over a mile to the truck several times.
Once when out alone I killed three and bagged 'em.
I couldn't stand up and ended up carrying it all by the straps.
Believe if I'd had someone along to help me get up I could have done fine
as 60lbs or so isn't a bad load.

I've had back troubles since '85 and a fusion in '06, another in '14.
I HAVE TO HAVE back support out there.

What's nice about it. Just set it on the ground, it's the perfect height for a bipod.
Sure keeps my butt from the cactus, snow and mud, or cold ground.
When I need to relax, just tip it back like in a recliner.
Very comfortable. Painted it splotchy gray, hard to see it among the winter killed
sage and weeds we hunt in.
Got it free so plumb cheap.
Think I put about $6 in the strap material and had the rest.
Worked great for me. Just sharing another way to solve the problem.

What about this one? More compact than the typical foldup chairs found these days.

Those soft, slack fold-ups that fit into a tube are murder on my back. I cannot use them or I am all cripped-up for a while.

The models with cross-aluminum tubes that snap open by pushing down on the seat sides, are the best for me. A simple shoulder harness could be attached and carry it on your back.

like this one - I bought a couple from Costco about 8 years ago and they are still going strong, used every year and all summer long when camping, or out in the car port while waiting for my lead pot to be ready for casting.

I don't know if ou are literally looking for a back pack/chair combination, but if you are, I saw this one in use a few months ago. It is very compact for carrying and yet unfolded into a very comfortable chair. I sat in it for a few minutes and I though it was comfortable. The owner is very satisfied with it.

BCB thanks for the link to that backpack chair. I have been looking for something like that with some back support since my surgery. Thanks again, Dave

I bought a version from cabelas that is similar to this one but haven't used it yet. This is the one I was looking for but didn't know the brand at the time.

I have 5 levels fused in my lumbar spine. When I last looked for a shooting chair my requirements were: it had to get me up off the ground, it had to have a back, and it had to swivel. Though not super heavy duty, I decided on the Shappell 360 pack chair. Works well for me, but I’m only 130#.

Default Back pack chair

Ohio chuck, go with what Daryl says.
I have one of these, and I have made out of 2" webbing, a harness , just like a back pack, very comfy n you don't feel all squashed up. My best day has been on a drizzly morning in a hay shed I shot a Fallow deer doe with my .243 Sako with shooting sticks in front of me at about 120 yards.
Also very lite to carry out. Mite be a bit more bulky than a compact fold up job, but when you a little older, comfort is what matters.
All the Best ,
Jay
