Default X Caliber.

Thinking of an X Caliber barrel and a search indicates L Sherm sold several blanks to members here.
I would like to hear buyers opinions on these. I do appreciate they are budget priced barrels.
Thanks,Ken.

my 20VT and 20 TAC were both scrambling eggs rather easily at 300 yards at Ray's shoot in July. And that was with an 11 year old driving. Mine are both 11 twist 3 groove and clean up in a jiffy.

Default have 3

Not sure about them being budget barrels. Being a new manufacturer they heavily discounted them at first to get their name out. I also appreciate they were open to doing group buys on Internet forums. Of the 3 I have all are 20cal 11tw, 2 are built into a 20-222 and a 20 Ackley Bee. They shoot as well as any barrel I own. The smith's that barreled the 2 have commented they are top shelf in quality after bore scoping them. I've dealt with their customer service one time and came away from it thinking I wish the others were as efficient as they were. Their reputation has spread, I'm sure they're getting bigger and here to stay.

kenbro, I've met Sherm, and he is a very nice gentleman who takes care of business correctly. Bought several contoured blanks in 20 cal through him. I scope the blanks when they come in and did not like one of them in a 10 twist. He said they had been having some issues with those. He said send it back, and they immediately took care of it and sent me a 1:11 3-groove to replace it.
The last blank I got from them was another 3-groove 11 twist. Under the scope it was about as good as one sees. It compared to a cut-rifled barrel and shoots extremely well. He said they had changed up their quality control procedure slightly. Overall I'm very impressed with their barrels and service. 410gauge

I've had 5 all have been good, wait times on contoured blanks is quick, full prefits such as AR and Sav are about normal. Not so much bargain as good value.

Never before have we had so many choices on where to get good tubes.

Default X Caliber

I have four of their barrels now and they are all fine products. Shoot well and clean up easily, as the bore is finished very smooth and clean.
I have another one, presently with Sherm at Hilltop Gunsmithing, being re-chambered from 204R to another 20 SCC on a Howa action.
I know there are several good barrel makers out there and they have good reputations. But if you go with Xcaliber barrels you will not be disappointed, as I know several who use and like them very well. Bill K

Chuck, I wasn't inferring they were budget barrels. I said budget priced.
Ken.
