Default Hornet Dream Rifle

For the sake of discussion, what would comprise your Hornet dream rifle - action, stock, barrel, trigger, etc.

I see ansuchltz are making them. In 17 and .22 hornet. And 4.6x30 on 1771 model.
As much as I like cooper, and ruger single shots. A bolt repeater, is much more deseriable, for a small game hunting rifle. So I'd like to try a 1771

Default 22h

I have my dream 22 hornet, actually two of them.
Got the heavy barrel 1730 anschutz in late 90s. Have shot a truck load of PDs with it.
Bought the same gun with sporter barrel, about five years ago. Have not shot it near as much, but have dropped three called coyotes with it.
Both of these are very accurate 22 hornets, easy sub 3/4”.

Previously I’ve had a Browning A bolt and a Kimber 82. Both were nice guns and nearly as accurate as the Anschutz. Also had a Ruger 77/22 hornet, it was poor in the accuracy department. Forgot, had a Ruger #1 also, marginal accuracy.

Don't have a 'dream' Hornet, but I like the Hornet so much I have four of them, a Ruger No.3, a Kimber M82, Cooper M38 Classic and a CZ527 American. The Kimber, Cooper and CZ all are under 0.5 inch for 5 at 100 yds with 40gr VMAX and W296.

I wouldn't mind turning one of my CZ 527 17 Hornets into a 20 Hornady Hornet, and since I get to "dream", I'd like Lapua 20 Hornady Hornet brass please.

Sako 78 22 hornet, kind of hard to come by. The action is just the right size for the hornet.

I was whishy washy on a .22 hornet riflefor years. I don’t want to think about some I have passed by, Anschutz being one of them. Then we entered the .22RF mess a few years ago. I got PO’d and dumped my Winchester collection and looking back should have dumped all my ammo then too.
I in turn wanted one just to play with and see what I could do with it and cast bullets. I ended up with a Savage model 40. It had 50-50 feed back and reviews. I played with it and it is a good cast bullet shooter and jacketed also. I was not looking for a magnum, but I wanted to take advantage of bullet designs that are better than the original 40-45 grain hornet bullets.
Well I got an itch a couple of years ago,17FB started it,then a 204 and a 17R all CZ 527’s. They had a good track record for off the rack rifles, so figured it was a good platform to try these three cartridges. I was impressed with all three and have other examples of them on other platforms now.
Same gun shop ended up with a 527 American 22Hornet. Swapped my model 40 and $50 for the CZ. Got home expecting good results, not. I played with it a bunch. Key hole cast bullets and anything but the original design hornet bullet. Stupid 1-16 twist.
Last weekend I swapped the CZ for my original 40 back.
I see several folks using 40 vmax, I tried everything known to man and the one I had there was no way it would shoot in a bucket.
Did they(CZ)change twist at some point for the hornet.
