Question about 17 Nosler brass
When I had Greg Tannel build my 17Rem Nosler brass was not yet available so he used a dummy round that I made with Remington brass. My loaded round had a neck of .193". Greg made my chamber with a .196" neck I am wanting to switch to Nosler brass, but with a loaded round I am at .194" is this too tight of a neck? Should I neck turn to make it .193" to be safe?
Thanks Harmon |

A thou per side is close, but enough as long as you keep the chamber clean and ALL of your cases are exactly the same. Going from.002 to .003 is not much of a change anything in my opinion. If you are concerned go to .004" total which should clean up most/all of the neck if the brass is halfway decent.

As others have said, 2 thou will be enough if you keep it clean. Another option is to have just your neck opened up another couple thou I doubt you will se a difference between 2 or 4 thou. In a accuracy.
