Default 20-250 Project update and questions

What I have on order and know goes like this.
Stan Ware of SGR is doing the build, McMillan A-5 with pad spacer system and integral cheek piece, 33% dark grey, 33% black, 33% white, with blind magazine. Action is a BAT VR repeater right bolt right port, spiral bolt flute, also I am going to use the BAT stainless trigger guard and their taperd weaver style bases. Jewell trigger set at 10 oz. Lilja #5 tapper 25 inches long with 1-12 twist. All metal will be bead blasted.

Now the dies seem to be the problem. Redding says I cant use a standard 22-250 die and put a 20cal seater in it and they also would not recomend putting 20 cal bushing and expander in 22-250 dies either. They want over $500 to make a set of dies, so I talked to Stan and he may just make the dies for me but he was going to look into it a little more for me. What are you guys using or suggest?

I just received 500 rnds of Nosler 22-250 brass for this project and am leaning towards shooting the 32gr Nosler.

Send a reamer print a couple fired cases to Hornady and have them make you a custom set of dies, but something tells me you can use a bushing 22-250 die with the correct bushing.

I got a set of 17 pred. custom dies from redding, with the bushing neck die. I only paid 200.00 or 275.00 for them..
P.S. Stan is the right man for the build, he has built 5 17 cal, and a 22-250 ackley for me and did a vantastic job..T.A.

Tim what was the lead time for the dies from Redding. I have Lonnie at Hornady working on my Predator dies.

Don't order anything till you've called Todd at the Woodchuck Den. That's where my 20-250 dies came from- Redding with the correct bushings and expander. They were available from stock, competetively priced and work faultlessly.

Standard Redding 22-250 dies will work fine. I wrote a little blurb on how to do it here:

Thank You for the information. I still have a long wait, the action and stock were 4 to 6 months out and they were orderd the first part of November. This is my first true custom everything build I hope it is worth it in the end. I just can't let my wife find out how much I'm spending
