Love to read your shooting stories over and over, but I can not lay down and take a nap when there are dogs to shoot!

Good for you. Glad you're still able to get out there after 'em
with the back ordeal and other problems.

Badger huh? Wow! That's great. I've been out where they are
for over 50 years and never seen one except when trucking
one crossed the road in front of me.

You going to have it mounted now?

Cheers for you guy!

Snows here again, might be about time to settle back for a few months.

Silver: Great post! Thanks for sharing your trip with us. What do you do with a badger? I've been out shooting PD before and the noise seems to bring in other animals looking for food. When taking a quiet break to eat lunch or read under a tree, the raptors, coyotes, and badgers come in to pick up the pieces. I usually leave them alone because I like to see the wildlife.

I've seen a great many hawks, eagles and couple owls even.
Never seen anything on four feet come to dinner.

I've shot p/dogs for over 60 years, thousands of 'em.

Would be something bigger to shoot if they'd show up like that.

Might have to do with the area and what's around etc.

Usually it don't take long for the big birds to start showing up.
They know what a rifle shot means, especially when there's a bunch of 'em.

thanks for the kind words about my post. I won't have the badger made into a rug or mounted. I will sell him to the traveling fur buyer.

Thanks for the story and photo's very much appreciated.

One of the highlights of this forum is finding out what other folk are up to and how they are enjoying life.

LeRoy:

One skin I've always wanted has been a badger.

I have a red fox, and a S Texas skunk skin here.

Funny, I was trucking down there and stopped to buy a soda.
Place had a table full of skins for sale. I bought skunk for $10
for Dad's Christmas present first year I was home from the Army. '73.
Had them mail it for me. He got a big kick out of that, had it on his
chair for years. Since he's gone, I got it back.
Still in real good condition too.

Hope you get a good price for it.
