Default MGM 5mm barrels....

I spoke with Andy at MGM yesterday and he told me that they do have a 5mm reamer and will make Contender barrels for it.The reason I called and asked is because Aquila responded to my email and confirmed they will be making a big announcement about 5mm ammo in 2018.Thinking a nice carbine and or another pistol barrel is about due.

Glad to hear that about the ammo but they say that every year it's a shame my Rem 591 has to sit way back in the safe it's a lot of fun to shoot but the rifle and small stash of ammo I have won't see the light of day till that ammo hits the market. Sf

A few people on Rimfire Central inquired about the 5MM here is the E-Mail that I received 2/22/2018:

Hi Jim,

Thank you for your interest in Aguila ammo and for taking the time to message us. With regards to our 5mm ammunition, production has been put on hold in order to meet the demands of our current products; however, we are looking to get solid numbers to manufacturing for production runs in 2018. We'll be sure to make an announcement when the 5mm is back in production (trust us, this will be a HUGE announcement), and in the meantime, we ask that you take a look at our other great product lines!

We appreciate your patience and continued support of Aguila ammo and look forward to serving all of your ammunition needs now and in the near future! www.aguilaammo.com

Pretty sure it is a Form letter as the others were worded the same

“however, we are looking to get solid numbers to manufacturing for production runs in 2018. ” = a whole lot of nothing. Sounds like a politician wrote that.

I stocked up when they was around so that I would never run out. I think it may have been CDNN who was selling the centurion ammo cheap?? I’m not a big RF guy and have both RF and a CF 591s so I load my own plus I made a couple thousand moly coated 30 lead RN bullets for the CF. If they come out with more I’ll probanly invest in more.

Back to the original topic, thanks for the info Matt. I’d like both a carbine barrel and a pistol length barrel. Been searching for a tc barrel but never find them except for the octagon barrel like I already have.

The neat thing is that someday I may want a budget 20 cal project and rechamber one if desired?

Better start saving up for one, my wife will love for this you Matt lol

Default Sorry Gary :)

I didn’t want to be responsible for any marital discord.
Thinking that I will order an MGM barrel and hope for the best.I am setup to reload the 5mm Craig so I will be ok no matter what.Looks like I got the same letter, but from a gal named Eileen down in Texas.I know 22LR has been their main priority for awhile now, hoping we can get back on track with the 5mm soon.

Sounds good Matt. I’ve also been thinking about relining a 22 chipmunk barrel to 5mm just for the fun of it. I have extra 22 barrels and that way I’d have all the rimfires except the 17 wsm. I know, I’m a sicko

I have a 10" Octagon 5mm Contender pistol barrel I have no longer use for. If someone wants it for a very reasonable price, email me.
