223 ackley- brass prep
I have a 223 AI barrel on order and I am wondering if I would be better off trimming brass to min. or max. length before fireforming. Will the formed brass be longer, shorter or stay the same length. Perhaps this is something I should not even worry about. TIA

Keep the case as long as possible till it's fireformed. Also I'd wait till you get the barrel and see how the chamber is cut.

Trim them after they are fireformed. When you go to an improved case the brass gets a bit shorter. No sense in making them extra short by trimming first.

ditto
I do nothing as to length until they are formed, champher the edges and load.

223 AR brass
Ditto, wait till you fireform, then trim if necessary. I just shoot a 223 reload, fireform the 223AI and go from there. Usually it will be just short of max trim length. Very easy to work with. Bill K
