If I ever live long enough to wear a barrel out just from killing coyotes, I'll die a HAPPY man.

I'll have to add that to my bucket list.

Great thoughts guys--Mike got your e-mail. Thks. for responding here. My notion of a 400-yd. 17 cal. XP-100 handgun may be pushing a bit but as soon as i get the funds i may get serious about it. Really don't need another 17 in this area of operation though as most of the dogs we're killing these days have the mange now. Killed 20 2 years ago and only 2 were good.

In the day though my old Model 7's were hell on them with the 30-gr. Hammett.

Here's to 'em! They both shot the 30 Hammett very well and had a nice little Burris 3-9x Mini on top. Best calling rigs i ever owned including all the customs i've owned since...IMO.

Actually skipped one of those bullets into a bobcat that was sitting on a flat rock at 400-something once, and still killed it.

Now have a 20 BR XP-100 that just doesn't shoot well enuf to my tastes with a fluted Shilen...Guess i'll have to work on it a bit more--actually got the 50 Berger out of the 16" barrel at 3500, but accuracy just isn't quite there--

bottom gun [Burris 3-12x LER]--
