Steve,
I bought the forming dies from CH4d. They weren't too bad either. If I remember correctly they were about $30 per die. That was a few years ago though. I'm sure someone on here has a 17-357max of some sort. Maybe they'll chime in. I just looked at a diagram for the maximum. The case is 1.605" long. The 357 mag case is 1.290". So you can make it about .25" longer than the case I gave you.

Aaron, Bill West did a 17 Maximum many years ago. It had a 40* shoulder. The dies were made by CH4D and I think they were just 17-222Imp shorten.

If that doesn't do the trick, i don't know what will. GL what sort of working velocities were you able to obtain out of that case sir? Aaron is netting 4000+ out of the Jet version with the 20's, so i'm hoping the Maximum will meet my goal of 3600/30's out of a 17-18" barrelled XP-100--we'll see. Also GL do you have a contact for Bill West? Thks. in advance.

Same photo as above but I added Ray's 17 & 20 Jav Imp into the mix for your view pleasure

No luck on searching for Bills 17 Max info. may have been on the old website before the crash. It was a nice looking rifle too. I did find the following links though,

Thks. much sir. Good reading. This will be my 1st true wildcat build, but i'm not sure about the forming of the cases. Sounds like a number of them can be lost in the forming process. Not even sure where to start with this one.

Steve,
Don't be scared of forming cases. You can loose a few until you get the process down. Its not really that hard, just takes time. First thing you need to decide is what cartridge your gonna build. When I get home I can scan my notes from forming my jet brass. PM me your email address and I'll send it to you.
