Default Bushnell Engage Rifle Scope

Several folks were wondering about the Bushnell Engage scope that I ordered for the Ruger 77/17 WSM. It came today a couple of days earlier than planned on.

Anyway, the 4x12 that I ordered is a closed cap model (normal hunting turrets) while other models have open target-type turrets. I'm not a big turret twister even with higher magnification scopes, so this should be sufficient for normal hunting situations. It has side paralax adjustment from 30 yards to infinity so there's no bulky objective bell. It has Butler Creek type lens covers for those who like them.

With just a quick look through the scope looking down the street nearing dusk, it seems to be clear and bright. I do like the MOA reticle. It is thin in design but it's very visible and clear with all of the hash marks, but it does not cover up the view. A brochure in the scope box states that the reticle lines are 0.2 MOA in thickness.

The real test will come when it is mounted and sighted in on a rifle, but it seems like a very well-made and very reasonably priced scope. If it all works as expected, I'd probably spring for another one for rimfire and small bore rifles for hunting purposes. Time will tell............

Congrats on getting it early for the weekend!

I was in Wholesale Sports today...They announced a couple weeks ago they are closing 12 stores for good across Canada. I was surprised to see they had the Engage, as we tend to be a bit slow getting new products up here.

The discount prices were pretty decent so I walked out with the same 4-12 like you have, as well as a 4-16 with the 30mm tube. I'm looking forward to trying them this weekend, however we are supposed to get our first snow tonight grrrrrrrr.

I just noticed both of these have parallax adjustable down to 10 yards.
