As far as groups I expected, the smallest I could achieve . I don't mind putting extra $ to shrink groups. I guess the bar I'm striving for are the groups my buddy Pat gets with his 527 varmint 17 rem. His rifle is a rifle from a older run of CZ 17's. With 21.5 grains of H4895, rem 7 1/2 and Berger 25 grain fb varmint, he gets around .3 to .4. @ 3800 and change Might be unrealistic of me to expect the same, I guess like everyone else I just cant give up chasing smaller groups.

Thanks for everyone's help

Two, Started out with a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50 FCH, then switched to a Leupold VXII 6-18X40 FCH just to be sure that the scope hadn't crapped out.
Same results from both

I'm curious as to the size of the test target. Mine is under 1/2 inch at 100 meters using remington factory 25gr HP load according to CZ. I haven't shot my rifle yet.......hope I don't have your troubles.

Talking

I tried two types of targets, a simple 3" cross and a 1/2" box, Don't take my problems as a example for CZ performance, My friends 527 17 rem shoots great. Most likely its the nut behind the trigger

Cool

That's not what I meant.

What does your Factory Supplied CZ USA 3 shot group (TEST TARGET) look like.

Mine measures under 1/2" for 3 shots (fired at the factory) at 100 Meters (according to my target that was supplied from CZ USA and came with the new rifle)

Did you buy your rifle new............(if so, it came with a factory TEST target that CZ shot from the factory)
What did your CZ Supplied and Shot factory test target look like??

If you bought the rifle used............you might be finding out now, why it was for sale.

FYI...........all of my CZ 527 rifles shoot 2x as well as the factory supplied test targets (with my reloads), thus I don't put a lot of "stake" in the factory test target. I was just trying to help you narrow down the issue.

Another thought would be to let your buddy try shooting some groups with your rifle.

Unless of course your "nut behind the trigger" comment was tongue in cheek

The rifle was factory new, there was no test target included in the box. Yes I did swallow some pride and let pat try some groups, he didn't fare any better than me.

Interesting.........
I've never heard of a factory new in the box CZ 527 not having a test target included.

Where did you buy the gun?
