Default Bump Fire/Slide Fire Stocks

Off topic but they have been mentioned in a few threads and obviously relevant to current events.

For myself, I simply cannot come up with a good reason to have them around. Seems the only thing they do is empty a magazine at a very rapid rate. Never tried one but I am completely confident that they would destroy accuracy. Certainly added to the destruction in Las Vegas but NONE of us NEED that, even in a self-defense scenario. The only argument I see against a ban on them would be from a 'What goes next?' standpoint. Seems like a weak argument to me. I don't believe in blaming the tool. However, tools should have a practical application and I am just not seeing it in regards to these specialized stocks.

Feel free to disagree but, let's keep this civil. Always willing to learn something new.

Jon, I'm in total agreement with you. The problem is, give em a little they're going to want more. Someone on another formum mentioned the story of the mule. Gets his nose in the tent, eventually the entire mule is gonna be in here. Honestly, I don't know what the real answer is...or what it should be. I think we're all in agreement there.

Oh, and from another forum, it appears the NR A is in favor of the ban this time, as reported by the Washingron Post.

If this issue is conceived, how long will it be before other gun owners who don't have an AR start deciding that None of us Need an AR-15?

For the record, I am an AR owner but I've never owned a bump stick nor do I have plans to buy one

I agree Bayou, just like walking to your upstairs. You cant get there in one step but if you keep knocking one step out at a time you or they will be at the top. My opinion? Dont let them take that first step. Just like the story of the frog in the skillet. I hope I got my point across without sounding stupid.

Guy on Ar15.com is asking $1,500 for a used one. I NEED an ar 15 style gun I have a fused right wrist and a 12.5” lop. I don’t think bumpfire stocks should be prohibited, but they should be an NFA item like a SBR or machine gun. Suppressors, which are nowhere near “silencers” should not be an NFA item.

I am so confused. How can we condone 9 people killed every day, and 1,000 injured, EVERY DAY (CDC statistics), due to cell phones.
Bump fire, slide fire, etc. is not our problem. We are the problem.
I think we need to examine the WE, not the thing.

Hey, it's a lot easier to blame a "thing".

Much less work at "fixing" the problem.

We should just ban cell phones.....

How many people die in drunk driving accidents per year compared to gun deaths?

Problem is, those without common sense about guns are scared to death that they exist, sipping on wine while talking about it to their lib friends on their cellular death devices.

Common sense is a lost attribute these days.

It's all about emotions............

Tell me how your feeling today

Pathetic times we live in.

I AGREE with you

"Tell me how your feeling today"

I feel extra crappy. Especially since I did not acknowledge the loss of 58 souls in Las Vegas. Or more souls lost elsewhere, due to any reason. We are all diminished by these losses every day.
