Default Wildcat from 5.7X28 MM Case

After reading about the 5.7X28 MM(.224) round I would like to own a rifle chambered for it. Even better would be a .172 and .204 caliber rounds made from the 28 MM length case. They would be low muzzle blast rifles for spring prairie dog pup shooting.

Look up Velociraptor, Kit Fox, Shrike. All are 5.7 based rounds.

Default 17 v-raptor

been a few questions lately about the 5.7x28 necked down to 17 caliber. decided to get my cooper out and shoot a few targets. weather was about 48* and a slight breeze.
shot 9 groups with 20 gr vmax, 17 gr vmax and some 20 gr burgers. the purpose of the bench time was to determine the best seating depth for the vmax bullets. the first group with 20 gr vmax went into .572 for 5 shots. the second group with the bullet seated out closer to the lands went into .349. the rifle shot 3 more groups with two different 20 gr berger bullets and all were under .376, all groups were shot at 100 yards.
in the right rifle the little case is capable of some pretty good accuracy, by the way the larges group measured .764 for the 17 gr vmaxes. without doubt a change in seating depth will shrink the groups.

well george i have shot several g-hogs and a racoon with the v-raptor . haven't shot any fox or coyotes with it but did with the 17 ccm at less velocity and 17 ah at the same velocities, worked well, after all the critter doesn't know what chamber the bullet came from and 3600 fps is 3600 fps. as shakespeare said " that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet"
