Default What 2 powders??

If you could only have 2 powders on the shelf for varmint guns, what would they be? I vote A2200 and VV133. Ya I am bored right now. Just got up and drinking coffee. I ask this because I counted how may different powders I have, and am ashamed to say how many I have. I need to thin them down. I just realized I have left out powder for my .22 Hornet's! Two won't work.

Along the same lines, of thinking, I would really need at least three or maybe four. AA2200, CFE BLK, IMR 4198 and probably CFE 223. But like you, I have more than those in the cabinet.. Shameful right ? Bill K

I'd go with AA2200 and CFE223.

I guess one of em would have to be IMR4227 for the little stuff, and easy to get.

The other these days would probably be Benchmark. Not long ago, I'd have probably said 4895 cause it will work for almost anything medium to large. jd

I too have Way too many different powders, but I have more than two kinds of peppers in my spice rack too.
I've not used AA2200, or VV133. So now, am I going to have to find these ?
No. I'll say Ramshot's TAC , and X-termnator.

They work in my 17 FB and 223. Haven't needed too much more.

I think I'd like to see this question posted a different way.

If your reloading room caught fire, which two cans of powders would you grab, as you escaped ? And thought that you could Safely escape ?

Jim

We don't have VV133 in this country any more so I would go with Benchmark and H4895 as they will work in anything I have or want.

I'd say... I would grab both of my 2230C and the VarGet. Yeah, they are really close, but I could sell the VarGet and buy the others I need

I am shooting 20 cal based on 221FB & 223 these days, so my powders are 1680, 2200 & 4895. However, in a fire I would be grabbing rifles not powder!
Interested to see how many of you responded CFE223. I have a couple jugs of it & would like to put it to use in 20TAC & 20-223AI with 40 gr bullets. Any suggestions?
