I have loaded the 5.56 62gr Red tipped tracers from pulled down ammo. Used H335 but don't remember the load off the top of my head. Most all of them lit up but as Tinman said mine also do not show up untill about 60-70 yards down range. This my be due to exposure to the elements after being demilled. I only use them with snow cover or after a heavy rain.

The delayed ignition is proper operation as it reduces the ability to follow them back to the firing location.

Hey, now we're gettin' on track. Question is: How much of which powder, at least to start with?

What are you loading them in? Are you trying to light them or trying to not light them? I also cut the backs off and load them in hornets. This makes them more accurate, consistent, and higher MV:

I did the same with 50gr. TSX .224" bullets, making them 40gr. for my 16" twist Hornet. They shot quite well, too. Just experimenting for a deer bullet - never tried them out on deer.
