Default Bullet type accuracy

I believe all the Benchrest shooters are shooting "flat base hollow point" bullets. They don't need high B.C., expansion, or any of the other "bells and whistles", just very accurate bullets.

Default BENCHREST bullets used

Yes, FLAT base bullets are preferred by benchrest shooters but I think that this practice predominantly applies to distances up to 300 yards.

I'm sure that distances past 300 yards are most often shot with boat tail bullets in a long tapered design with a large BC

In all cases, velocity isn't important.
The shooter doesnt need a flat shooting bullet since he knows the distance and compensates for bullet drop with scope adjustment.
