Norma 6 PPC brass
Any one know the neck thickness of the recent run of Norma 6 PPC brass. My 22 PPC brass have necks that are too thin for my 22 PPC Cooper.
Thanks, Chuck |

I'll measure my 22PPC rounds
What are you looking for as far as a loaded neck diameter? John |

Loaded Norma 22 PPC rounds measure .242"
I have a set of forming dies, so I'll make some cases from IMI 7.62x39 brass and see what the neck diameter is using formed cases. Starline offers PPC basic brass that with a lot of forming steps could become 22 PPC brass. John |

A 22 PPC case formed from 7.62x39 IMI brass measures .250-.251" with a bullet seated. It was so fat in the neck that I had to seat the bullet with 6PPC die.
I'll dig out some WW and R-P 7.62x39 brass and see what the formed neck diameter is. John I formed a case from Hornady 6.5 Grendel brass and the neck diameter was in the .248-.249" range with a small rifle primer pocket bonus. However the neck still wouldn't fit inside my Redding 22PPC seating die. A straight line seating die might be your best option to address the large OD necks. Norma 22 PPC neck thickness
Thanks for the info. I am surprised by Cooper's max SAAMI chamber neck diameter and too much freebore.
