Default KW Kleinendorst

Looking for some help fellas. I just purchased a few rifles from an estate I’m looking for information. Two of the guns have KW Kleinendorst engraved on the barrels. Then I have another one with JR Buhlmiller engraved on the barrel it’s chambered in 220 Swift. The first two are 222 Remington and 6BR. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks to all.

IF it's the same Buhlmiller, he made scope mounts back
in the 40-50's. No clue on the other name.

Ken Kleinendorst….very good gunsmith. He made the bolt shroud removal too. He used to build rifles. Todd Kindler used to use him IIRC. He may be deceased now (Ken, not Todd). Not sure.

I just remembered: Ken chambered up a small Sako for me way back when I first got into the small calibers. Todd Kindler recommended him as he was one of the few guys who would tackle a small Sako. I think the rifle was a .17 Javelina. Never should have sold it.

Buhlmiller was a highly respected barrel maker. Read a few articles he wrote in the '50s.

From and in Kalispel, Montana, John (Old John) was writing into the 60's, at least, mostly about hunting in Africa.
A close and now departed friend of mine from Smithers/Houston, B.C., Lester H. Hawkes, formerly of Kalispel, worked for and with John,
as well as friends of Les Bauska, also barrel and rifle maker in Kalispel, into the 70's, likely 80's too.
I visited Kalispel in 1975, meeting Les Bauska & buying barrels from him, but only spoke to John B. on the phone. He'd fallen, apparently
having a stroke and was not "seeing" visitors.

Thanks to all for the replies. I shot the rifles today a bit the accuracy is incredible way beyond my capabilities. Very happy the rifles made me look good. I also found out that the 6mmPPC I picked up was also built by Ken. Would like to find out more information about him if anyone has any. Thanks again, as always here everyone is very gracious with information.

Bet if you called Todd Kindler at the Wood chuck den, he could give you some information. He gives credit to Ken and others for their help with his projects and such. Bill K
