Default 221 Fireball Single Shot

There is a Remington 700 in .221 on GB and listed as a single shot, I can't find any information on this, any one have one of these or know about them?

Looks to me like a 700LVSF. Stocks were supplied by Bell and Carlson, and the recoil pad by Limbsaver. There was a problem with some of the pads, they became very gummy. Limbsaver replaced a gummy pad on a stock I had at no cost. They were repeaters. Picture #6 looks like a single shot follower was glued in this one.

I am with John Henry's eye of opinion on that rifle! It is an LVSF, but why the thing was converted to SS, is beyond me! I shot all of the LVSFs as single-shot to save brass and never had a problem that would make me convert the mag-feed. Guess it is in the perception of operation. I had all the chamberings offered in the LVSF line except the 243 Win. and they all shot very well. Loved the 17 Rem and 221 the most! I have read of problems with the model but all were shooters for me. I don't understand how Remington makes their decisions on keeping and axing rifles and cartridges, but the LVSFs were one model that I REALLY liked!

When were they made, $700 sounds a little steep? Do you have any idea what trigger they had? thanks Bob

Single shot follower would be my guess as well, I sold one similar to that to a board member here.

I haven't looked at the listing, but they are bringing ALL the money lately.

The couple I have had have both been shooters. I even wore the barrel out of a 17 Rem. I think it was crap to start with, but shot extremely well for a while, despite the barrel...looking at it through a scope later, you would wonder how it could have been a shooter early on???

XMark is the trigger I believe.

Shot well for me, I don't believe John Dunham had any issues with it either.
