17 Rem Water Capacity
Could someone who has a 17 rem measure the water capacity to top of the neck of a fired or resized (preferably) case for me?
I have a 17-222 that has been "improved", and I'd like to compare its capacity to the 17 rem and the standard 17-222 brass I already have in order to better extrapolate a max load to work towards. If anyone has 17-222 AI or similar data I'd be interested in hearing it. |

Not what you asked, but QuickLoad lists the following capacities:
17-222 Rem 25.20 grains 17 Remington 26.50 grains I typically find my fired case capacities always run higher than QL lists |

Thank you. Given that, I am pretty sure this improved case is going to be close to or larger capacity than the 17 Rem so I can use that data when/if I get some chamber issues straightened out.
After searching a bit I came across this site http://kwk.us/cases.html which suggests the water capacity of the 17 Rem is 27gr. Last edited by gzig5; 01-31-2017 at 09:40 PM. |
