Great thread Doug, thanks to Alex and his suggestion.
Now we have a good idea about each other. Sure surprising me at no
young guys among us.

I have a big question: Have you realized it's Dec '18 already and '19
will hit us shortly?

Dad would have been 100 last Feb 3rd, he was 92yrs 8 mo. One uncle left of the bunch, he turned 95 June 15th. Starting to fail though.

Funny thing, way back in 1717 we had an ancestor that died at 88. 400 years and no one has hit 100 yet. Must be quite a challenge and trip that long, or something.

Stay well, this way sucks!

None in my family either, George and it's a HUGE family on both sides.
I'm thinking that only 2 made it past 90- my Mother and her older sister,
both passed 2 weeks before their 94th.
Mom has been 'gone' 3 years now, last Oct. 21st.
Mom also passed on the same day, as her younger sister. Sarah
although Aunt Joyce (Sarah) passed on the 22nd.
Mom passed on the 21st, at 11:15 PM - that would be 14:15
in the AM in Ontario, of course, almost same time, within an hour, as her
younger sister.
Coincidences?

sgtg, you oughta seen how the lovely lady of the house acted when the first Granddaughter we had called and told her she was a Great-grandmother . That was a hard pill to swallow . I teased her about it and she kind stuck her nose up in the air and asked "well what does that make you?"
Years er flying buy now.

Finally at 60 after blowing a bunch of money on small calibers, I swear they reproduce, I found something just as bad or worse, pcp air rifles. Feel like a happy broke kid though.

Daryl:

Granddad was 86, his only brother 6 yrs younger died at 86.
Dad had a hell of a time the year he was 86. Dad was done Oct 5 '10.

He told about going to see his grandfathers grave. Dad was George William,
gr/grdad was George Whitfield. Guess it shook Dad to see his name on the stone.
George W. the first time.

My gr/gr/grandfather on Mom's side was born 100yrs before me (1844/1944).

Doug: how old was she that day? I had a gr grandkid at 34. Four generations had their first one at 17, it add's up, or deducts maybe.

Of my three, girl turned 58 in sept, boy will be 57 the 9th, youngest will hit
50 the 18th. Granddau is 39 i think. Step son will or is 59.

Just keep getting up everyday and it all add's up faster than we ever
expected it to.

Years ago Dad told me: "the longer you live, the fewer family and friends
you'll have".
I told him: "the only way you'll avoid losing them is to go first".
