On the Benchrest Central thread on bullet making, I spent hours posting pictures that showed my setup and explaining why and how I did things.....just to have it all disappear when someone got their undies in a wad and deleted the thread. A lot of other people had their time and energy wasted on that thread. Now, many of them are unwilling to go through all of that again. And rightly so.

In the next couple of days, I'll post some pics of my setup here and we'll see how it goes this time........

Lot different on Small Caliber. SC wouldn't go through the trouble of having a bullet making section to go ahead and destroy what you, I, and others are trying do here. If you look farther back on SC there was a 29,000 viewed Thread on bullet making that's still there. More pictures would be welcome on SC. Nobody leaving home here. Al on the BRC Thread I had just rounded up some Posters like you and George, Gerry M, and Randy to talk 30 cal bullets when the Thread disappeared. Fortunatley SC is here for talk on the 30's. I'm not too interested in a butchered Thread on bullet making. Like you I am not happy that lots of other peoples work cannot be recovered on the BRC Thread. I stopped posting on BRC after that unexcusable management decision to trash yours and others work. What I like best here is that 99% of whats posted on bullet making is by sincere shooters learning and knowing bullet making.

Ian, I'm not the photo computer genius on here, I can answer any questions you might have. Iwill measure bench height and post later. what seems most important is everything is done so YOU are comfortable when running. otherwise fatigue will set in and you will not want to make bullets at all. I believe that's a big problem when you hear someone say they can't stand making bullets they basically are not comfortable.....george

I'm not a computer photo guy either but I'm going to try. Back in 06 at San Gabriel Range we had our 2nd BR School. The second one is in 6BR under archived articles. The first BR School 04 we had a bullet making display of equipment. The 06 school we made bullets, my equipment. Walt Berger spent the day there with me making bullets that some shooters shot. I flew Perry Morton out for the 04 school he help talk bullets and the other classes. Don Spencer also talked bullet making at the 04 BR School.

Aaron I have an awesome wife, if I want to make bullets then no arguments.......I've even got her trying Benchrest shooting (another reason to start making bullets).

Yes I plan on cutting and squirting my own cores.

Please tell me why things should be kept flexible, I would have thought that solidly mounted presses would be a necessity........then again I'm probably reading your post wrong.....Kiwi

Al I for one appreciated your input into the original thread and the photos you have posted........I sure wish some of the others that had input into that thread would input into this thread.

George if you want some help with posting photos please let me know, if you can put photos on your computer and email them to me I'll post them for you and let you post the information......as they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Please let me know if I can help.

When squirting cores, core seating or pointing up do you work standing up or sitting down?.......the only time I've watched bullets being made was at Bergers a couple of years ago, which isn't the same as watching someone make bullets by hand.

Some of the things you talk about using in the US aren't easy to find or even duplicate in other countries......ie what is a gallon Mason jar??.......Kiwi

Ian, I prefer to sit,but when I run bullets I run a lot at a time. I can generally run 5-6 k per operation in a day. george

Hi Ian,

Get your self some of the RCBS sidewinder Tumblers you should be able to get from Sinclair's Int. $84.99 US$ get three of them. I use one for each core lube, jacket lube, and another one for adding lube after core seating, they are multi-flat side and work fantastic for lubing. I use them on the Thumblers rotary tumbler.
