you are probably correct Ramos. I usually use the 40's in my 204, and 55's in my 20-250AI... and would probably use 39-40's in the VT for coyotes, if my barrel twist will stabilize them.
But then again.... Guys are also using the 25-30's in their 17 cal rifles...Hmmm.... got me thinking now.

My 20 Vartarg is a pac-nor 11 twist that I use for coyote hunting. My go to bullet is Berger 40gr. They are very fur friendly also. I used 39gr BK. And had to many splashes up close. I’m planning on testing some Black Hole 35 gr this fall. Very impressive caliber!!

Almost time to get out the 20 Vartarg and shoot some Groundhogs! You got to love the Little powerhouse 20 VT!

Yes, Sir! Ours is ready for rockchucks and gray diggers (ground squirrels). Just waiting for the new crop to show themselves before declaring war.

20 Vartarg has seen very little action this summer so far due to me shooting 17 Ackley hornet, 17 TAC and 22 Dasher. I will take it on a Groundhog hunt this week. Its been way to long sitting in the corner.

Yes a little VT thread revival is good while drifting through the winter doldrums.
HBS gotta thank you my VT exposure.
I originally became interested in the round a few years ago while rereading old articles in Precision Shooting. Somewhere in my reading it was recommended to look up Hillbilly Snipers threads on Saubier. And as they clishe' goes "The rest is history".......the ol' VT is now my favorite round ever and is used for 90% of my PD shooting Still on my first barrel, a 3 groove X-Caliber 11T, maybe 2000 PD rounds......all 40 Vmax's and 18 grains of CFE Blk @ about 3400. Round count would be a couple thousand higher but missed the last two years of the PD Wars. Really enjoy Harold's narratives as a placebo.😎 Gonna try a can this year and have 1500 32 Zmax's to give a try. I've really been reluctant to thread this barrel for the can because it's so accurate in its current tune....just hate to mess with something that works so well. However retuning really should be no issue. Thanks to all who make Saubier the best small caliber forum around.
