Default I'm a sucker.............

......for older Sako rifles. Especially one chambered in 17 Remington.....

I ran by a local haunt of mine this AM just to"check in". The owner smiled when I walked in the door, and he greeted me with, "What took you so long"?

To cut to the chase, late yesterday evening he traded for a Sako S491 in 17 Remington with a Leupold Vari-X III 6.5x20 AO scope, all in excellent condition. I found two very minor bump scratches on the stock that can easily be buffed out, and the rifle appears to have been shot very little from looking at both the bolt face and the barrel.

Anyway..........It came home with me at what I thought was a very good price. It's a bit heavier than I like to have in a carry rifle to try it on coyotes this winter, but it should excel on a bench for PD's next spring and summer. The front sling stud has been replaced with a flush fitting Browning sling swivel set-up, so it should ride a bag very well.

Your worse than me. I’ve been buying myself more Christmas presents than I have been buying for others. With these damn guns it never ends. Haha

Tis the season apparently. I had a Sako L461 in 223 that followed me home from the LGS on Thursday. It's not in quite as good condition as yours but the price was more than fair.

I can resist everything except temptation when it comes to guns. Fortunately, my lovely bride is into them too.

Really nice Sako, I love them. Just because I've got the Christmas spirit, I've got an ugly Savage B Mag I might trade you for it if you twist my arm a little but you would need to upgrade the scope a little. Just a little humor. You get it at Collector's Firearms?

I too hold a special place in my heart for Sako rifles. I just can't locate that special place in my budget to pay for them.
