Ruger 77/357 & 77/44 barrel threads??
Anyone know what the threads and shank specs are? Thx. Dreaming about a few tinkering projects: heavy match grade 44 mag barrel, maybe a 357 B&D, etc.
Dreaming is cheap, doing costs a lot more. Also, anyone ever see a 77/357 take off barrel available? Guess I could remove the barrel from my 77/357 and send the action and stock back to Ruger for a new one saying.."I lost it....." lol Last edited by Alan in GA; 04-06-2018 at 12:36 PM. |

they would charge you a lot for that little "accident"
since its a discontinued item, I doubt you would get it back. |

Customer service...... no help...
CS was very polite and spent about 5 minutes looking through his data, but could not find the TPI numbers.
Easy enough to pull the barrel I guess. The few barrels I've pulled off 77/22 Hornets were not much more than hand tight- the weight of the action wrench handle alone almost spun it loose (1" steel bar). I sold my 77/44 : ( and don't really want to use the factory barrel of my 77/357 to experiment with. I see used 77/44's for $600 now and then. Hmm... |
