Default Pistachio Blanks?

I have been seeing some Pistachio stocks more often lately. Where do you get good Pistachio stock blanks?

Products that I am looking for but can't seem to find no matter how hard I look:
Leopold Scopes, Forester reloading equipment and Victorianox knives.

I video recorded all of my Highpower Rifle matches. Pretty soon I am going to watch them all in reverse order so that I can watch those F Class guys GO HOME and leave us alone so that we can shoot Highpower Rifle.

Default pistachio blanks

They're pretty hard to find in rifle lengths and the only sources that I know of is Northern California and the middle east. Usually auction sites and custom stock guys are where I would look. Very dense and hard. I sent a blank up to Cooper when I ordered a 17AH, one of our members owns it now. I also have a early BRNO CZ 223 that I had Mark Weider turn a stock for me. It's not hard to find it at Hardwood sellers but it's in small sizes, ie knife or utensil handle scales. Most of the rifle sized blanks I've seen come from the middle east mainly because of the age of a tree big enough to harvest a blank of that size. I've still got 3 blanks squirreled away. Here's a pic of the CZ Brno

Thanks Chuck,
I have seen some rifles lately stocked in Pistachio, some of them yours. I have found a couple of places that listed Pistachio as an option, so I will watch those places and maybe buy a blank if I see one or two. I thought that the little I was finding was due to my poor searching, but evidently that is not the case.

Default Pistachio stock

I was the lucky one to buy Chuck's 17 AH - Never saw pistachio wood before - Shortly after, I found and bought another Cooper 223 AI with a drop dead pistachio stock. THEN I found a Cooper 17 mach2 in pistachio wood that I am still begging the guy to sell to me ....
maybe there are a few more out there ... Not quite the same having a blank to work with ..... but can't beat a Cooper .... Good luck

That Cooper .223 AI is probably the one that I am mentioning that made me like Pistachio. If that was the one, I almost bid on it. The only thing stopping me was that it is .223 AI and Right Hand.

Do you have any pics. of it?

Mid 60's Gun Digest has an article on exotic woods for stocks, there was a list of suppliers. Maybe some are still around.

I guess that it is this one. I saved pictures and the test target for reference on Pistachio stocks. I see that it is .223 AI as you mention. It is a spectacular rifle. I wish I had bid on it even though it is RH.
