I bought a used, but in excellent condition Model 43 Win in 218 Bee with an old El Paso Weaver K-6 or K-8 scope on it back in 1963 for $40.00. This was my first center fire rifle and also my first Varmint Rifle. And My Love Affair with Varmint Hunting and Reloading began right then and there. I still have this rifle it is one of my all time favorites and treasures and I still shoot it quite often. I have shot it 1000`s of times and carried it 100`s of miles and literally shot several pick up truck loads of about every kind of Varmint you can think of. Shooting this rifle is like going shooting with an old friend. This rifle will still shoot a 1 inch group at a 100yds using IMR 4227 Powder and Hornady 35gr V-Max Bullets. But I was just thinking about a New 218 Bee Rifle for my Son and my Granddaughter. Sorry if I get long winded but 218 Bee`s are really special to me. And I have a lot of stories about mine. Thanks for all of Your information.

I have mentioned be for that I have owned various rifles in 218 B -Winc 43. Sako L-46 personally have had MUCH better accuracy with the B then the Hornet.
My favorite has and is the Mashburn Bee the L-46 that was stolen was consistent 1/2" 100 yard groups the current Cooper does closer to .3 never owned a Hornet or K that was consistent with most 3/4- Inch when the felt like it Jim |

I'm sorry to hear your L46 was stolen. I'm fortunate enough to have my Grandfather's L46 Hornet. Best I can tell it was made in 1958. And it is very precise with the correct bullet.

Contender
There is also the option of having a Contender barrel made. I have one in 22 Mashburn Bee that is one of my favorite truck guns.
