Thanks everyone.
This one is a "Kimber of America", made in Zonkers, NY.
Evidently they started with serial # KA00001 or so I read.........mine is KA07XXX. I read the ending serial number was KA15686 and production ended in 2007. Don't know how true that is, but that's what I found with what little research I've done.

Some early ones had "red pads."


Hal, I'm sure some more ammo experimentation will yield better results. But, I really like mini mag HPs for hunting. One of the only HP long rifle ammo that actually expands/mushrooms nicely. I plan to "enjoy the heck" out of it.
