With the value carried in a 77/22 WMR, I'd either live with the stock accuracy or trip it for some decent coin and get into a 22 WMR CZ or similar.

The Remington Premier shoots best in my 22WMR, but I haven't been able to find any for many years here in New Zealand.
The Hornady and Winchester was pretty good also...........Kiwi

A few years back I stumbled into my favorite gun store and saw my first CZ455 Varmint. Muzzle is a heavy .866, it was in .22 Mag. It shoots real well for a factory .22 Mag a cartridge I've always been real fond of but when I heard Danny Lilga made a quick switch barrel somewhat like a 10-22 I was an owner.

Quick barrel switch and bringing a number of types of ammo I hit the range.

Hornady 30 grain V-Max 5 shots at 50 yards, pretty average for this rifle.

100 yards. Wind considered again, kinda average.

More money in it than makes sense but like I said, I've always really liked the .22 Mag. Definitely the most accurate .22 Mag I've ever played with.

Damn! And I thought my Sako 22 mag. was accurate. It's not even close to yours. Nice setup and super great shooting.
I am a 22 mag. fan also.

Excellent accuracy, even a good 457 factory barrel can do pretty good.

That's about the norm with Hornady's 30gr load.

Merry Christmas everyone....

Looks like you hit the proverbial wood lottery with that nice shooter.

My most accurate 22 WMRs, CZ 452FS & Winchester1885 like CCI 40 GR HPs.
They love Remington Premier 33GR V-Max. I hope everyone has a Joyous Christmas and a Safe New Year!

I too sold a Ruger semi .22 mag never could keep a firing pin in it, and when it did shoot, it was never as accurate as this new CZ. The CZ 512 semi hasn't given a minute's problem, accuracy is good all around most ammo.

Several years ago during the last ammo shortage, .22wmr was impossible to find in these parts but there was loads of .17 on the shelves.

I have a Heckler & Koch Model 300 22 WMR that I bought in the late 70's with a claw scope mount for $300 dollars. It is one of the most accurate rifles in my safe. I really like using it for closer in calling for varmints.
I shoot Winchester 40 gr HP exclusively out of it. It is a dream to shoot. After the auto import ban in 1980 you cannot get them any more except on the used market and they are pricey.
