Not mine, and no connection to it, I've been eyeing this one for some time.

Kimbers
First Stop has quite a few Kimber's that all got posted at about the same time. I suspect they purchased a large collection. There are a few other SA models listed and some do have the black tips. I'm wondering if the original owner may have moved the barreled actions around on the stocks(?)

In the later production KoO rifles they had an option list that I think included the ebony forend.
I also have an early production returned salesman sample M82 Hornet Super America that I purchased from Greg Warne when they were in operating in Clackamas absent the ebony forend. The quarter rib style is a way to identify early production guns.Mine has the aft end of the quarter rib extending over the forward receiver ring, the GA gun has it stopping at the receiver, but has the forward scope mount on the rib. I've never seen that variant before. As to the stock, the classic and cascade stocks have panel checkering on forend. The S, Custom Classic Deluxe, S, Custom Match, and Super America grade stocks have wrap around checkering. I'd say this is an early production Super America. |
