Saw a couple of boxes of Remington ammo in a LGS a few weeks back. IIRC, it wasn't cheap.

Keep a watch on Sleeping Giant Brass, High Plains Brass (site sponsor) and some others that have it already formed from 223/LC brass. It works just fine.

I got fed up with the availability and the price. Decided to make my own, not sure that was a smart move but I am getting set up to make about 1K of 221FB brass for me to do as I please with.

If the brass I have seen online for $70 and up per 100 is ready to go it may be worth it. If it needs neck turned it will be a fair bit of work to get it and be correct.

There is a good sized donut on ALL I have formed from 223/5.56 that needs to be addressed. It is not as simple as size, cut excess, trim to length then load. Neck thickness is all over the place. So a one and done reamer isn’t going to work and give consistent wall thickness.

JSH: Don't know your procedure, but I have the RCBS #83101 form & trim - Series A die and it takes 223 brass down to 221FB in one step, then just trim the length and I trim the neck diameter to .012, with no issues.
Way better than buying the 221FB brass at the prices, now days.
As you know you can find 223 brass at most ranges, where shooters just leave it lying.
