Default 17-20 cal. fun rifles as projects

Hello All,

I have been shooting 17 cal. since 1961 and now I am into the 20 ca. stuff. This is the first time in several yrs that I have posted here. I finished TSJC back in 1963 and worked full time mostly in Ft Worth as a general gunsmith doing custom stocks in the off season. I only had time for a couple of stocks per year.

Now here are the things I will show and tell soon. My reloading kit which is a complete box of 3"X4"X8" , a few rifles as projects, how to use a mini lathe to do you barrels, making your own headspace gages, reamer making, and much more etc. Steam bluing with the 4" pipe is a process that anyone can learn and do your own rust bluing.

Stockmaking is my favorite part of gunsmithing and with over 45 yrs as a Pro Gunsmith full time. I will show modern styles from the 1960's and classic styles in different types of woods.

Default 204 Ruger mini Mauser

This is my final rifle to make and it started out with a Krieger barrel, but a knot formed about 6 inches from the muzzle end and I replaced it with a 1/12 t Shilen #2 barrel. This complete rifle weighs about 8 lbs and will be light to carry in the field for varmints. Some groups are about 5/16th inch at 5 shots to 100 yds. This is a stock made from a blank all by hand tools.

Default To load ammo in the RV on the road

Here is my kit for reloading while we are on the road. I am a full time RV'er no and needed to be able to load some ammo with different calibers. I can neck size only and this works very well. No one made what I wanted so I made my own tools and put this in a box 3"X4"X8".

Your reloading kit is very clever. I seen a break down of it before. For those who never saw it you might want to post it. Yes I own a couple of those mills but I don't operate them very good. I'm sure there are some on here that would appreciate your tutorial on stock making.

Default All small rifles with a few different rifles

I am going to post few pictures to study what some customers requested. Some of these styles go back into the 1960's. Be ready to make what the money people want. Try to learn from these pictures as you may like what you see.
