Default 7.5 fk

I know the ammo is still hard to find, but has any one started working with it? It might make a wicked 17 or 20 caliber round or just something different. Information about this round and case seems to be scarce. It is supposed to be equal to a 44mag in a semi auto, but I don't see it. FK's formula for power when they compare the 7.5FK to the 357mag, 10mm and 44mag does not add up, but seems to manipulate the numbers. Any opinions?

From the looks of it, it has to be running some crazy high pressure to do what they describe. Case looks to be the length of the 10mm magnum, or there abouts.

Interesting round, something like 2,000fps MV from a 5" or 6" bl., 1,500fps at 100yards. I thought it was the 10mm case necked to hold a .300" bullet.
7.5mm being .2953.

The normal human pistol (polymer) is in the $1,600ish range. There are a lot of big claims made about this round and its suitability for class III game and bear protection.

I've seen 2 tests on this pistol, one by Greg from Taofledermouse & the other by Demolition Ranch videos.
Interesting, but bear protection? I'd put more trust in a properly loaded 1911 in .45ACP.(shot 2 bears with one of those while working).

I have grown up with big black bears and have seen the raw power of a grizzly at close range and the 7.5 would not be my first choice or even in the top 5 rounds for protection. I think it would be better than the 45acp ( no offense) but not even close to a 44mag which is what it is compared to. It seems to me it is too powerful for personal protection against two legged creatures and really not enough for big bears. This round has about the same ballistics of the 30 carbine and although I love the round and use it a lot. I am not going hunting elk, moose or bear with it. I am certainly not going to carry it for black or brown bear protection!

I've heard the same thing a 10mm mag necked to 30 caliber or 30 remington short which ever way you want to view it. Believe its a 90gr @ 2000 ft/sec from a 6" barrel.

Ammo is something crazy like $70 per 50 so i'm sure brass isn't cheap. Many have stated that a 357 sig or even 9x25 dillon can meet/exceed those numbers in factory underwood loadings.

there was that 17/357RG years back based off the 357 sig at 17 caliber. so it can be done just scaled up. probably could use the same reamer even just chambered deeper.

Someone chronographed it at 1,500fps MV with the 90gr. bullet.
LOL - that would be quite a bit, actually 1/2 the FPE a .30 M1 Carbine's POWER.
449fpe compared to 881fpe.

Sounds very similar to the 7.62x25 Tokarev, with a 85gr FMJ at 1500+fps. I have a CZ-52 pistol, and it is both loud and fast. I figured it was the only roller block action I will ever own, because the H&K rifles have gotten out of my price range.
