WOW. The price in Canada is not nearly so bad. That rifle would fetch around $2000 US up here.

Another example of price gouging in the present time.

Exactly. When they first came out, they were around $1500 street price. Can't remember the MSRP.

Yes indeed.....the M92 Winchester/Miruko shown above is in fact a .44 Mag, and shoots very well...IF I remind myself to be careful of that steel crescent buttplate.

The LGS prices around here reflect the local economy. The worse the local economy the more ridiculous the prices.

Friend found a pre-safety 1894 44mag Marlin for me at a show. With shipping and transfer fees it came to 15-20% less than in a different area.

Rick, I was careful of the buttplate issue, as they don't fit me very well and are very uncomfortable. My Browning has a 20 inch round barrel, a flat steel buttplate and is very good with very little recoil. I think M1892s are my favorite lever actions.

I have a limited run Miroku Model 92 replica rifle chambered for the 32-20 cartridge that is fun to plink with at just about anything appropriate that you can find to shoot. Recoil is very mild.

I also have a couple of Italian Model 92 replica rifles in 357 Mag and 45 Colt that will quickly teach you about curved steel but plates if you don't have them snugged back properly.........

All three rifles help me operate when I'm in an "old west" mood.
