Default Some more velvet - 2015

Spent the weekend goofing off in a pretty good area for mule deer. Saw some nice ones, but they were all too late/dark or too far or moving too fast for getting any pictures. Did get a few pics of some of the smaller ones though.

Outstanding! New lens? Which one did you get? I haven't given the wife hers yet, and I haven't played with it at all. Can't wait to try it out next week though.

Charlie, that's not quite the new lens. Well, not the one I had in mind anyway.

Plan had been to get a used Canon 500 f/4. But, just as I had my money piled up and about to start shopping for a good used copy, life crept up and snagged a sizeable portion of the money pile...

So, I bought a new Sigma 150-600 instead. I'm liking it just fine, but don't think it is one bit better than the Tamron, and I'm looking at it as an "interim" solution. My plan is still to get a used Canon 500. One of these days! Looking like that day is another year off though...

Thumbs up Dave........

That next-to-the-last pic.............

Someday..........he's gonna be HUGE!!!!

Very nice pictures!!!

BTW.......your "lens quest" reminds me of my quest, many years ago, for a Canon A1. It was just before my daughter's birth..........she's 35 years old now. Times were different then......

A few years ago I finally bought a Canon 70-210 Macro.......nothing "great", but I had always wanted one(and an auto winder).

Kevin
