Default 58 Vmax x 6mmRemington

I'm looking for powder suggestions to get maximum velocity and best accuracy with the 58V Max in a 6mmRemington

For fun I loaded some reduced loads with 58Vmax and Trail Boss for a Mohawk 6mm with surprisingly good 1-1/2" group @ 100 yards yielding 2200 fps. Rifle seems to like the 58 Vmax

The Hornady reloading manual shows the 58 Vmax to yield 3700 fps with regular powders. (my factory bbl is just 18-1/2" so I would expect 3600 fps)

The manual shows about 8 popular powders and I recognized H4895 as a possible starter....

Any suggestions ?

Is it a short freebore or std? Can you get them close to the lands with 1/2 the bearing surface in the neck?

58 vmax has always worked best for me close to the lands if not slight jam, but I don't have a 6mm Rem.

The bullets are seated halfway down the 6mm's long neck.
I didn't do any measuring - just guessed at the seating depth and making sure it functioned in the magazine. I doubt the bullets bearing surface would be anywhere close to the lands.

. Measuring a group center to center, you don't subtract bullet size. That group you're measuring is .430"
