Rem .17 Fireball??
I have a Rem VSF and I'm looking for a load for break-in using the Hornady 25gr HP(mollied). I'm not interested in ultimate velocity, but not real slow either.
And I know some of you are going to say not to use molly during break-in, but I do. I'd like a powder load, primer and how much jump. Thanks, Tom |

I'd recommend starting at or maybe just above the recommended starting point in the manual and work up slow from there.
What works in one rifle don't mean much of anything in another. What your asking for in my opinion and with all due respect, is for unsafe data.

18.6 of Benchmark, with CCI BR4 primers in RP brass at 1.850 LOA and a 25 Vmax, out of a 26" Rem factory barrel is doing 3890 fps, max fps variation 28, and shoots .25 at 100. This is only .4 off recommended max but my other accuracy load is the same recipe with 19.1 grains, and this shoots under .20 at 100.
