Rifle or handgun? Auto, bolt, revolver, single shot, derringer? Purpose? Plinking, small game, defense? Budget? Sights? Scope? Stock or grips .. wood or synthetic? Newish, old, 2nd hand-me-down, farm gun, "something that works," original period correct, custom build, "go-bang quality" or old Schuetzen classic? There's a lot of 22 WMR's out there!

Guess I could have been more specific. Looking for a bolt action, wood stock something like a kimber or cooper.

Don't forget that CZ makes some nice 22WMR rifles also. Both the Kimber and the Cooper are great, but a lot more money also. Are you looking for new or used?

The Browning T bolt and Sako Quad hunter would be at the top of my list.

Used is fine as long as it is in good shape. Might have to look at the CZ's, I have a couple in the hornet family and both shoot very well. The sako might work as well, just wanting a good fox gun that is accurate.

I know you said you were looking for a bolt gun but have you ever looked at the Heckler & Koch Model 300 22 WMR? You cannot buy them new off the shelf as they were part of the semi-auto import ban years ago but you can still get them used on GB.
I have had one since the late 70's and it is a fine shooting and extremely accurate 22 WMR. Just something else to check out if you have not thought about one before. |

Thanks Bill, do they feed well? I have a remington 597 and it is really accurate but seems to jam every 3rd or 4th shot.

I have never had jamming issues with my Heckler & Koch Model 300.
