R-P brass in 6.8 is LR primer, unless they made a very recent change.

Default 22XC Cases

Some more thoughts on the 22XC: 22XC cases could be formed from 6.5X47 Lapua cases, but the OAL (necks) would be quite a bit shorter. The quality of my current lot of 6XC Norma cases is quite good. I have been using 6XC cases to form .22/250 AI cases, a very easy process that doesn't require form dies or custom loading dies. I too prefer Lapua brass in most calibers, but haven't found much of a difference in the quality of 6.5X47 L and 6XC Norma cases. Both are excellent. I'm sure the 22XC is an excellent cartridge, but so is the .22/250 AI without the extra expense of custom dies, etc. Good shooting! Vic

Your right I'm helping a customer assemble a 6.8 and he said Hornady brass not Remington now has the small primer.

If you have one gallon of gasoline in a can what is the difference in ignition if you use a small wooden match or a large torch?

So what is the reason for two different size primers?
Gasoline is uncontrolled combustion. Smokeless powder is controlled combustion.
