I was looking through my Photobucket host site for anonymous friends hiding in there and I ran across this picture that I thought deserved posting.
![]() My buddy Larry's family went together and got him this magnificent Cooper "Western Classic" with Snazzy wood in .17 HMR for his Birthday I believe. It is even more striking in person than in the picture, beautiful rifle!!! Larry and his bride came out to visit Montana some years back and while he was discovering how much he likes small calibers (with a little help from a friend ![]() ![]() ![]() His HMR performed outstandingly and a few shots from someones .17 Ackley Hornet kinda set the hook on the small calibers for him like it did for a lot of us. Safe to say it isn't his only small caliber now. He's presently away from his home computer so I figured I'd do some posting for him. I loved this shot!

![]() ![]() Cousin Bobby, oldest son Alex, and me. Past the boat about 100 yards is my house, Rappahannock river about 15 yards to the left, and marsh about 500 yards behind us. Bobby lives about 20 yards right behind the camera this pic. Went again this past Friday in the field about 600 yards away and limited out on geese. Young Alex and Bobby went down river about 1/2 mile on Saturday, set up by a little gut in the marsh and limited out on geese again. Keep this up and won't have to buy meat til some time in March. While none of my family hunt deer, the local guys bring us several hindquarters and backstraps each season in return for hunting on our farm. Alex |

Drew:
Now that's what I call 'getting caught in the act!" A couple yrs ago I pulled up a sky shot like that of the house and it showed my late wife standing in the back door. She'd been gone about 4-5yrs then. It's been updated since showing my junk yard has moved into the back lawn & patio area now. Hmmmmmm!!!

For posting that pic. That was our first trip to Montana, first hunt with you , first Rock Chuck and first sub caliber ( 17 ah) I shot. Started me down the path to several more little guns.
This is a fun thread ,great to see some of characters on the site. |

Ramos sent me these after a little needling
![]() These two are of Ramos and his two sons, both with their first buck!! Here's an excerpt from the info Ramos sent with the pictures, the future of our sport if I do say so myself as a long time Hunter Safety Instructor!! " The pictures were taken one year apart when each boy was nine years old, with their first buck. They were enrolled in the Oregon Mentor Program, hunting on my tag. Perfectly legal and both had their Oregon Hunter Safety certificates. Really appreciate the help. Have a good, safe New Year." Check these out fellas ![]() ![]() ![]()
