Default Old School, not small caliber

Czech action in 30-06 built in 1949 in postwar Germany. A so called "Cigarette Rifle" since a couple of cartons would get a rifle built. 6x Hensoldt scope with side rail detachable mount, double set triggers, spoon handle bolt etc. I had the wood refinished and am anxious to shoot it. Initial trials with cast bullets @ 50 yards yielded a 10 shot group under 1/2". Looks to be a fun toy...…….[IMG][/IMG]

Nice looking old rifle and well preserved, for it's age. You should enjoy it. Bill K

Nice!! Been years since I shot cast bullets, other than in hand guns, but just ordered some 22 gas checked for hornet, bee and 222.Guess old timers need old times. Keep us posted on further details, Tom.

Herb - a VERY nice rifle to own. Seems to shoot very well with cast bullets. A lot of .30/06's do just that.
I've not tried any in my 1936 M70 yet, but have a bunch cast, checked, sized and lubed, ready to load.
That's quite an interesting rear sight and base.
What was your load, please?

That beauty, and it shoots very nicely. Love the older style rifles, these modern plastic and stainless steel, just don't seem to have much soul.

That's a nice rifle and obviously still has a lot of life left in it.
