Remember the 788's were rear locking. I have seen several 221FB conversions on these rifles infact I bought one in 5mm to convert but Kerry talked me out of it.

590 conversion
Thanks for the comment Adam! It is a neat build and I would consider doing another one without question. I believe Dennis would get $1900+ for this build now.

Shrew
That would be a nice, trim action to build a 17 Shrew on but...after paying the cost of the Mach IV conversion and then having it converted to the Shrew I would be as they say "upside down" comparing cost to market value. But I guess that is the result of much of what we do, isn't it
Now if I were starting with a $300 rifle I would still be upside down but $800 less so...

Action for Shrew
Gary, I believe the cost of him converting the action to centerfire, filling in the floor(for single shot) and threading the receiver for the barrel is $500+ if you supply the action. Its not a cheap way to go, but its something not many have!

17Mach IV
Are there still 17Mach IV shooters out there or has everyone switched to 17 fireball? I could have this re cut to 17 fireball for the buyer if he wanted before I ship it.

17 Mach IV
MT is a good guy to deal with. I have recently done a deal with him and was very satisfied.
Glad you got it sold. -Darrell |
