Default CVA scout pistol

Has anyone here tried a CVA scout pistol? If they ever make a .223 again I would love to try one out.

I picked one of them up in 300 blackout. I was going to get a barrel made for my T/C but when I saw how cheap ($330 delivered) these were I decided to try one out.

Overall it is decently made except for some of the smaller parts were a little rough. The trigger guard looked cast? and it wasn't finished smooth but was still serviceable. Since CVA is part of Bergara I knew it would have a decent barrel on it. It was nicely finished on the outside, threaded muzzle with protector and the bore looked very nice.

I was not disappointed when I went out to shoot it. I topped it with a spare 4x handgun scope and was getting 2-3 MOA with some crap 150 FMJ ammo and with better ammo I was around 1-1.5 MOA. I am sure it could do better with a higher power scope. I really got it to shoot cast bullets with anyway which it does really well also. The bore stayed nice and clean during all my shooting which is always good.

I am very happy with it and would definitely buy more of them in the right calibers.

That sounds promising. How is the trigger? I hope they do another batch in .223!

Do they still make these? What is the twist on the 300 BO?

Heck I can't even buy a Encore barrel for the price of the CVA.

I forgot to mention that. The trigger is decent, could always be better like my T/C's but it wasn't bad for me. I like how I can adjust the take up and overtravel on the T/C's and wish it was the same on the CVA. I think because they had to put a cheesy safety on it (I read it was mandatory for import?) they didn't put a "lawyer trigger" on it.

I see they are for sale at Bud's and at Classic Firearms where I got mine so they are still making them.

I didn't see where the twist was listed but the CVA website lists the 300 BO rifles with a 1 in 8 so I assume it is the same with the pistols.

They are priced right. I said the same thing, I was planning on getting a 300 BO barrel for my T/C Contender and saw I could get the whole pistol for less.

They seem to make runs in different calibers. I prefer to have something like a .223, but they have not made them for a while. I think the 6.5 CM and 6.5 Grendel were the last 2 released. I still see the .300 BO on GB.

Bergara told me that the barrels on their break barrel rifles (Ba13 here in UK) are not interchangeable. However, the barrels on CVA Scout rifles are interchangeable.
They said they had no future plans to make their break barrels interchangeable.
Need Lowell to come out of retirement and produce some Stub kits.
Ken.

First, glad to see you back. Hope you are feeling a whole lot better and doing well.
Second. Yes some stub kits would be great for many. Bill K
